For new creators wondering what they're walking into when they click "Become a seller" - full breakdown.
Stage 1: ~2 minutes - name, country, date of birth, accept Stripe TOS. That's it. Once Stripe accepts charges on your account, the upload form on /sell unlocks and you can list mods immediately. Buyers can purchase. Money lands in your Stripe balance.
Stage 2: whenever you want to withdraw - bank account number, ID upload (some countries), address verification. After this, Stripe releases your accumulated balance to your bank on the schedule you choose (daily/weekly/monthly).
Why Stripe?
- They handle KYC for you
- They handle tax forms (1099-K in US, equivalents elsewhere)
- They handle worldwide currency conversion automatically
- Buyer in EUR pays in EUR, you get paid in your local currency
- They eat chargeback workflow on your account
- 48 countries supported
What we take: flat 10%. Stripe takes ~2.9% + $0.30 per US transaction (varies). On a $10 sale: Stripe ~$0.59, platform $1.00, you receive ~$8.41.
One important thing: Stripe LOCKS your country at account creation. Pick the country your bank is in.
