If you've never installed a mod before, this is your starting point.
The 4 essentials you need:
- Script Hook framework - required by 90% of script mods. Free, lives in our Tools category.
- A file browser tool - for editing RPF archives. Also free.
- A memory extender - for big mod stacks (multiple vehicle packs, 4K textures).
- A backup of your GTA 6 install folder. Always.
The flow:
- Buy/download the mod
- Extract the .zip / .rar / .7z
- Read the readme.txt that ships with every mod - install paths vary
- Drop files into your install root or use a file browser tool to inject into RPF
- Launch the game in single-player ONLY

Common first-time mistakes:
- Loading mods while connected to GTA Online → instant ban from Rockstar
- Skipping the script hook install → mods silently fail with no error
- Installing 5 things before testing each one → impossible to debug when something breaks
Post your specific install question below if you're stuck. Include: which mod, your error message, your game version.
