Add-on vs. replace: which is the right format for vehicle packs?

Creator perspective. I've shipped both add-on and replace variants for my last pack. Add-on installs are slightly more complex (dlclist edit) but don't break the base game.

From a buyer perspective, which do people prefer? My data says replace gets installed more often (simpler) but causes more support tickets.
