Working on a full retexture pass for Vice City - buildings, roads, signage. Aiming for a "1986 with 2026 fidelity" vibe rather than photorealism.
Currently 4 weeks in, ~30% of the city core done. Posting some early shots to gauge interest before I commit to finishing.
Mainly looking for feedback on:
- Color palette - does the neon-pastel reading land or does it look too saturated?
- Sign legibility - some of the retextured shop signs lose readability at midday
- Performance - currently testing on a 4070, not sure how it'll run on lower-end cards
If anyone's done texture work at this scale before I'd love a sanity check on workflow. I'm using a hand-painted approach for hero buildings and AI-upscaling for filler - feels like a reasonable hybrid but open to better methods.
Will post screenshots in replies.
