Do story mods work alongside the base game?

Yes - they're designed to coexist. Story mods add new missions / contacts / locations on top of the base campaign, not replace it. You can play the base story to completion and then layer story mods for fresh content.

Can I play story mods in GTA Online?

No. Story mods are single-player only. Loading them in GTA Online triggers Rockstar's anti-cheat and bans your account. Use them in offline Story Mode only.

How long are GTA 6 story mods?

Varies hugely. The biggest community story-DLC packs run 5-10+ hours; standalone missions take 20-60 minutes; what-if scenarios can be 5-15 minute set-pieces. The mod's description and reviews usually call out runtime.
